Thank goodness for monuments, we should never forget.
1919.I went to a very small village church in England once and on the wall was a tribute to those who had died from that church in World War I. There were so many names I could hardly believe it. (I might have told you this before but it left such a deep impression on me, I will never forget it.)
Kay almost all the churches of the time will have one of those. Sometimes a plaque on the wall, sometimes a gate or cross in the grounds. These were not just for the members but often reflect the village, district or town in which the church stands.
